FoodRoutes Network Advisory Board Meets for Two Day Retreat
February 2007 - State College, PA
The eleven member advisory board of FoodRoutes Network reciently met in
State College, PA to discuss the future direction of FoodRoutes and the
Buy Fresh Buy Local program. In an inspiring two days of work, the
advisory board agreed to move the Buy Fresh Buy Local program in a new
direction towards a more defined chapter program. "The goal of our
new direction is to tap into our existing network of partners and help
them to define the program better and include more local consumers in
the program." stated Tim Schlitzer, Executive Director "We also wanted
to build in a long term sustainable model for local groups to be able
maintain the BFBL program beyond just grant funding." The board
celebrated our new direction and enjoyed a chance to take a ride in the
new "Buy Fresh Buy Local Mobile" which Tim will be traveling around the
country later this year to meet and great all our chapter partners.
